From his roles in Love Jones, A Man Apart, Girls Trip, and Why Do Fools Fall In Love to playing Councilman Tate on the hit Starz show Power, Tate has a way of charming audiences. Now this immensely talented actor has given us some insight into his personal life, particularly his marriage, which has made everyone curious about his wife. Larenz Tate and his wife, Tomasina Tate, have been together for more than a decade. And if you’re a diehard fan of Prince who has followed his career, you’d recognize Tomasina. But for the uninitiated, we’ve got Tomasina Parrott’s wiki for everything on this multi-talented woman.

Tomasina Tate Is from California

Born Tomasina Parrott in January 1977, she hails from Long Beach, California. Very little is known about her family and early life.

Parrott reportedly graduated from Robert A. Millikan High School in Long Beach in 1995.

Chicago-born Larenz Tate moved to California with his family when he was four (though some sources report the year as 1984). The Tates currently reside in the Kardashian Kapital of K(C)alabasas where Tomasina’s business is based.

Larenz and Tomasina Have Four Sons

The moment Larenz met Tomasina, he knew she was “the one.” They have been married for 12 years since tying the knot on November 30, 2006, after six years of dating.

The couple was already parents to three boys—Miles (July 29, 2006), Zander (born 2008), and Zion—when they announced they were expecting their fourth son in 2018. Pictures from the basketball-themed baby shower were the last update on their fourth child.

Pictures of their sons and his wife are a rare sight on Tate’s social media, and Tomasina’s Instagram is private. They are fiercely guarded about their privacy, which Larenz claimed is their “superpower.”

Larenz, however, made a rare exception when he spoke about his wife and kids during an appearance on The Breakfast Club. He revealed that he and his youngest son share the same birth date, which is September 8.

And he also raised a few eyebrows when he said that he and his wife sleep in separate rooms. “There’s a lot of stress in the world. I go home, I gotta stay away from my wife. I can’t look at her too long. The loins are tender, she’s very fertile, and I just try to stay away from her, man,” explained the Power star. “I sleep in a different room. When it’s time for me to get a little somethin-somethin, she turns up pregnant, all the time.”

Tomasina Was a Dancer with Prince’s Band

Back in the day, Tomasina was a dancer who performed under the stage name “Geneva.” She was mostly associated with The NPG, or The New Power Generation, Prince’s backing band for more than two decades.

She danced with the band during Prince’s 2000-01 tour. However, it seems she didn’t join The NPG when they reunited in 2015 for Prince’s last album, or the second time in 2017 when they went on tour.

I Don't usually post a lot of personal here on IG but today my 💔is broken. A friend has moved on to the place he had always dreamed of! Prince taught me so much. How to be a better performer, how to REALLY HEAR music, How to be conscious of real issues and so much I still take into my everyday business & living!! He challenged me like no other. He drove me crazy but always in a loving way! I'm so honored to have been able to perform beside him on his stage and soak up his genius…. I'll treasure the many memories but most of all the laughs & silliness! I'm thankful for the pleasure of living in his purple bubble & really knowing the TRUE PRINCE! RIP My Man! #ripPrince #Geneva #NPG4Eva #remeberthemoments #gonetosoon

Tomasina’s dance career wasn’t limited to NPG. She also performed on TV shows like The Drew Carey Show and Cedric the Entertainer Presents. She also had dance-related roles in movies like Along Came Polly, Miss Congeniality 2, Starsky and Hutch, and You Got Served.

When Ashanti appeared in the NBC series Las Vegas in 2005, Tomasina was one of her backup dancers. Incidentally, Larenz’s claim to fame was starring in Ashanti’s 2003 music video, “Rain On Me,” which dealt with the subject of domestic abuse.
