Adjua is the owner and art director of an Atlanta-based party decor business. John is also an art director, and a photographer who has snapped pictures of Janelle Monae pre-Hidden Figures fame.
Ferguson Has Been Performing Since She Was a Young Child
John and Adjua noticed their eldest daughter’s talent when she was introduced to the performing arts at the age of five. Creative and artistic from a young age, with a passion for dance, Priah fell in love with theater.
With Atlanta being a hub for child performers, it wasn’t long before Priah, who idolizes Michael B. Jordan and Regina King, was signed to a talent agency and was attending camps and workshops. She’s currently signed with People Store in Atlanta and CESD Talent Agency.
From her early Instagram posts (managed by her parents), it’s clear that Priah was booking many jobs in commercials. Even her sister appears to be a child actor.
Her commercial for the United Way of Greater Atlanta prompted the nonprofit to appoint her as a spokesperson for their Atlanta chapter. She works with the organization, performing community service projects to help the homeless.

After a few appearances on TV, Ferguson got her big break with an appearance on the widely acclaimed Atlanta. She went on to appear in shows like Daytime Divas, Cream X Coffee, Mercy Street, and The Oath.
But her claim to fame came with Stranger Things.
Ferguson Was Promoted to Stranger Things Season 3 Main Cast
Priah Ferguson plays Lucas Sinclair’s sister Erica in the popular Netflix original series Stranger Things. She reportedly learned she bagged the role when she was getting an after-school snack at home, while her mom read the email from the folks at Netflix.
It’s unclear how Erica balances her busy acting schedule with school, but she does it quite well. Last year, she wrapped up a school year on the honor roll.
Erica was introduced in the second season, where she went down in Stranger Things history for teasing Lucas for being a nerd. She wasn’t supposed to have more than one appearance, but she charmed the audience so much that they kept bringing Erica back to deliver more snappy one-liners.
Ferguson has a natural talent for comic timing in real life. So she’s really the perfect fit for Erica, who was a comedy element in the series.
As of season 3, Ferguson was promoted from recurring character to the main cast. When she found out, Ferguson was “completely shocked. I thought, ‘Wow, they must really like my work!’ Erica was only supposed to be in one episode, maybe two, so I really didn’t expect any of this. After we filmed the nerd and syrup episodes, the Duffers went back to the script and wrote my character in a few more times. That type of thing never really happens, so I’m extremely grateful.”
You definitely can’t spell America without Erica, folks! So catch this wonderful starlet on Stranger Things season 3, now available on Netflix.
