Jack Avery Is from Pennsylvania
Jack Robert Avery was born on July 1, 1999 to John Avery and Kristin Weaver in California. They later relocated to Susquehanna, Pennsylvania where he was raised. He graduated from Susquehanna Community High School, where he played varsity baseball, in 2017.
According to his Twitter bio, his primary residence is in Pennsylvania, but he spends the better part of his time now touring with his band.
Avery Began His Career at 12 Years Old
Jack’s father introduced him to music and taught him to play the piano at a very young age. Though talented with musical instruments and blessed with a soulful voice, a music career wasn’t the athletic kid’s priority.
But he later switched gears from baseball to focus on music entirely. At 12 years old, he began his music career, first sharing his talent on various social media platforms.
His mother acted as his manager at the start of his career. With her help, he performed at various local venues in their town.
Avery eventually crossed paths with Daniel Seavey (American Idol season 14, top 12), Jonah Marais, Zach Herron, and Corbyn Besson and formed the band Why Don’t We in September 2016.
Why Don’t We debuted with their first single, “Taking You,” in October 2016. They have since released five EPs and their debut album, 8 Letters, in 2018.

His Siblings Are Social Media Influencers
Avery is the only boy among five children. His parents are not together and his mother, Kristin Weaver Stanford, is married to Darrin Stanford.
His elder sister, Sydnie Avery (born 1995), had a very brief career on YouTube. But her Instagram followership is at 250K and growing. You’d probably remember her from when she dated fellow Instagram star Devin Hayes. Until 2017, she was running the online clothing store, Sweet Girl.
Jack and Sydnie’s half-sister, Ava Stanford (born 2004), earned over 198K followers thanks to her association with the Why Don’t We singer. But it’s Jack’s youngest sister, Isla Stanford (born 2008), who’s the real star.
Isla has over 300K Instagram followers and 39K YouTube subscribers. The rising actress and model is mostly known for showcasing her quirky tween model life on YouTube.
Jack also has a sister, Camila Avery, but she’s apparently not active on social media. Jack himself hasn’t been active on his solo YouTube channel, where he did cover songs, in over two years. Nonetheless, his channel has over 233K subscribers and his Instagram has over 1.7 million followers.
Jack and His Girlfriend Are Parents
Avery has been dating Australian-born Gabriela Gonzalez for a while now. The couple surprised fans when they revealed that they had become parents almost a month ago.
Avery and Gonzalez’s daughter, Lavender May Avery, was born on April 22. They broke the news on Mother’s Day (May 12), with a family portrait where they all wore lavender clothing to celebrate the newest addition.
Taking a leaf out of Kylie Jenner’s playbook, they kept Gonzalez’s pregnancy a secret. Until the Mother’s Day grand reveal, Gonzalez’s Instagram posts don’t have even a hint of a baby bump.
While we’re still confused on how they kept it a secret, Why Don’t We fans are ecstatic for the new members. And so are Jack’s bandmates.
