Gavin Thomas Leatherwood was born on June 7, 1994 to Tom Leatherwood and Jill Rigby Baltzer. He hails from Oregon but grew up in Orange County, California.
He claimed Yorba Linda as his hometown before moving to North Hollywood in 2017 for his acting dreams.
Gavin’s dad is an Oregon native and L.A.-based chiropractor. He appears to be divorced from Gavin’s mother.
Jill Rigby Baltzer is a mortgage loan officer in Portland, Oregon. She is currently married to one David Baltzer.

Growing up in California, Leatherwood always wanted to be an actor and had been working towards his dream from a young age. He landed his first professional paying job in theater when he was six years old, performing in a production of All My Sons.
Leatherwood made his TV debut in an episode of NCIS in 2017. He has since acted in short films and guest starred in other shows like Grown-ish, My Dead Ex, and Wicked Enigma.
In 2018, it was announced that he would star in the Riverdale spin-off, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. He plays the mysterious warlock Nicholas Scratch, who attends the Academy of Unseen Arts and will form one-third of a love triangle with Sabrina (Kiernan Shipka) and Harvey (Ross Lynch).
Though if you look at Leatherwood’s Instagram, it’s his and Ross Lynch’s bromance that has everyone swooning.
Interestingly, Leatherwood auditioned for the role of Harvey before it went to Lynch. Leatherwood was instead cast as Nicholas, a character that was created for the Netflix series.
