Game of Thrones season 6 has been quite the adventure, for fans and newcomers to the series alike. It has, so far, been full of the violence, bloodshed, and passion that we have grown accustomed to as the series has been evolving for the past five years. Although many of our favorite characters have been killed off—especially after the beginning of the series when Ned Stark’s head got chopped off—the murders have given the show an edge. In fact, since it seems that the producers of the show aren’t concerned in the slightest by killing off any character, whether they are the main ones or not, and audiences are strapped to their seats watching every new episode that comes out on a Sunday night. Although fans are constantly tuning in to see if their favorite characters will be killed off, they also want to see if characters will make a comeback. Like Gendry, for example. Where is Gendry? What happened to Gendry? Will Gendry return? If you’re asking these questions, don’t worry, so are we. There are many Game of Thrones theories, specifically Gendry theories, which predict he’ll be making a comeback in the last two episodes this season. Let’s explore some of them, shall we?

Who Is Gendry?

Here’s a refresher before we get started, in case you’re forgetting who Gendry from Game of Thrones is. Gendry was a major character in season three, a skilled blacksmith who is also known as Robert Baratheon Bastard Gendry or Gendry Baratheon. He appears in 17 episodes and never meets his father as he is not openly acknowledged by Robert. Arya and Gendry meet when she is disguised as a boy traveling north on the Kingsroad with Yoren. They form a close bond through an adventure that includes being tortured at Harrenhal, but he ultimately disappears after season 5 when Stannis burns his own daughter alive for the Lord of Light. Gendry is an interesting character because he has Baratheon blood in him. If the current King Tommen (who’s actually a bastard son of Jaime Lannister) is exposed and his true bloodline is revealed, Gendry could be the new king (so says one of the many Gendry theories).

The Gendry and Arya Theory

As Arya marches back to Winterfell, there’s a chance that her path could cross with Gendry. The last we see of him is when Davos throws him out into a boat and into the Narrow Sea. Although he says he doesn’t know how to swim and we never see him again after that, there’s a chance that he makes it out alive. Perhaps he turns around and sets up camp on land. Or, perhaps he stays at sea with a ship and crosses paths with Arya. We don’t know for sure if they’ll ever see each other again, but we sure hope they do. There’s no doubt that they had some chemistry going on the first time they met.

The Cersei Theory

Another one of the Game of Thrones theories involves Cersei and her secret. In last week’s episode, there was apparently a rumor that Qyburn’s spies were investigating that implicated Cersei and was “much more” than what she expected. Some are thinking that the rumor has to do with the Cersei looking for someone else to take the throne, even if it is currently occupied by her son, Tommen, so that she can save herself. If this happens, it’ll be exposed that Tommen is the bastard son of her and Jaime, and Gendry is the bastard son of Robert Baratheon.
