The Show

Dancing With the Stars is an American dance competition television series that is aired on ABC, taken from the original British television show, Strictly Come Dancing. It is currently on its 23rd season, and the show seems to get more popular every year. There is huge curiosity every year to know who the stars will be, and this year is no exception.

The 2016 Cast

The semi-finalists of DWTS were announced, with five pairs dancing their way closer to finale night. Below is the list of the five couples who will perform some smooth dance moves in the upcoming episodes of DWTS.

1) Laurie Hernandez & Valentin Chmerkovskiy

Olympian Laurie Hernandez is thrilled to be paired with experienced dancer, Valentin Chmerkovskiy, and the two are increasing their lead on their competitors. Hernandez knows a thing or two about dancing and says she is not called “Baby Shakira” for nothing! Chmerkovskiy is patient and he is a strategist, so this combination looks really strong to win.

2) James Hinchcliffe & Sharna Burgess

James Hinchcliffe is a daredevil on the race track and he has danced his way into the semi-finals on DWTS. Though he suffered a near-fatal crash earlier this year, Hinchcliffe came back strong. He brings the same fighting spirit with him as he dances with pro partner, Sharna Burgess who has also appeared on DWTS several times before.

3) Jana Kramer & Gleb Savchenko

Kramer’s work and her new born baby have not stopped the actress from dancing into  this year’s DWTS semi-finals! She is paired with Russian dancer, Gleb Savchenko who knows all there is to know about performing on DWTS. Kramer is one of the most-liked stars on this show.

4) Calvin Johnson & Lindsay Arnold

After a successful nine seasons in the National Football League, Calvin Johnson has hung up his cleats only to don his dancing shoes. He is paired with American professional ballroom dancer, Lindsay Arnold, who is excited that she gets to teach Johnson how to dance. Johnson has done a great job getting this far.

5) Terra Jole & Sasha Farber

Jole is the first little person to compete on DWTS. The star of Little Women: LA has made big strides to get this far. She will be dancing with experienced Russian-Australian dancer, Sasha Farber to make her attempt at winning the show.
