Being married to a cast member of Iron Man has got to be the coolest thing! Bridgid Coulter herself has had a successful run as an actress both on stage and screen, and now she’s a successful interior designer.
Here are some details from Bridgid Coulter’s wiki.
She Comes from a Mixed-Race Family
Born on August 2, 1968, Bridgid Coulter’s age is 49. Her mother is of African-American ethnicity while her father is white.
Coulter is best known for her work in Rosewood and Westworld. She and husband Don Cheadle have two children together, two girls named Ayana Tai and Imani Cheadle.
And though she tried her hand at acting, it was clear her passion was in design. She runs her interior design company called Bridgid Coulter Design from Santa Monica, California. Did you know that when Coulter was 12, she redesigned her parents’ kitchen?
Coulter has a natural flair for interior design. But she didn’t know that it could be a career choice when she was little.
Bridgid Coulter’s Education
Bridgid Coulter went to UCLA for her undergraduate studies in theater. She then worked on several movies like Street Wars and Always Outnumbered.
Coulter took a break from her acting career to raise her children, and that is when she found her second calling—designing spaces. She also has a postgraduate degree from UCLA’s Arch ID Interior Design Program.
She has not only learned the dynamics of color and pattern, but she also understood the aesthetic sense required to create an inspiring space. And boy, is she ever good at it!
Coulter’s company has catered to office spaces, hospitality enterprises, and homes alike. And as the principal designer of the company, she makes sure that her clients feel like a part of them is incorporated in the space.
She’s even a designer to the stars! Some of her mention-worthy clients are Matt Damon, Alfre Woodard, and Olivia Munn.
Bridgid Coulter Design Also Makes Textiles
Coulter is not just a person who uplifts your living space, but she also makes sure it’s unique. She carefully creates and curates textiles, which are used to make some of her most distinctive pieces, like her cushion covers and bedspreads.
She sketches every pattern by hand first as part of her creative process. She then implements them on fabric with the help of some of the best textile-manufacturing factories in Los Angeles.
She is also a featured artist at The Guildery Shop, a textile manufacturer.
She Appeared on OWN TV’s Home Made Simple Show
In 2017, Coulter got the chance to appear on Home Made Simple, the award-winning show on the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN). She was seen designing and restructuring a bedroom oasis for a woman who moved back into her childhood bedroom.
Coulter’s designs have also appeared in books, newspapers, and magazines like Sunset, Design Sponge, Rue Magazine, Luxe Interiors+Design, The Los Angeles Times, and more!
Bridgid Coulter’s Daughters
As mentioned, Coulter and Cheadle share two daughters, Ayana Tai Cheadle, 23, and Imani Cheadle, 21. But neither of their daughters followed in the footsteps of their parents and have chosen fields outside of acting.
According to Imani Cheadle’s Facebook, she went to Boston University. She is currently living in her hometown of Santa Monica, California.
The Cheadle family live in a beautifully curated home in Santa Monica Canyon, which was carefully designed by none other than Coulter herself!
Bridgid Coulter’s Home Renovation
Before residing at their Santa Monica home, Cheadle and Coulter had a home in Venice, California. It was a humble 800-square-foot single-story home that was later drastically transformed into a modern beauty.
Coulter added an extra floor to the building and created a rooftop deck for gardening (or just relaxing).
The now-2,400-square-foot home with an open-concept is a place of sanctuary, where muted tones of blues and cream take center stage. The property was listed for $2.45 million in 2016.
