Von Scales Is from Missouri
Von Scales was born on February 15, 1968 and hails from St. Louis, Missouri. He attended the college-prep institution De Smet Jesuit High School in Creve Coeur, Missouri.
After graduating from high school in 1986, he attended the University of Missouri-St. Louis where he played basketball. Before he graduated in 1990, Scales had been an all-conference second-team selection for the 1988-89 season.
He has since worked at Compuware Corp, Maxim Investment Group, and Wells Fargo Home Mortgage. He currently owns the Pro Iv Chronic Pain Center in the greater St. Louis area.

Scales Is a Father of Three Sons
Von Scales is father to three boys, Brendan, Cameron, and Evan, from his previous marriage to Amy Fitzmaurice. Fitzmaurice is a personal trainer and former body builder. She appears to have remarried and has a daughter.

The Scales brothers have certainly inherited their parents’ athletic genes. Cameron Scales played both football and basketball. He plays tight end for the Lindenwood University football team.
Brendan Scales attends the University of Missouri, and plays tight end on its football team. Evan was a wide receiver for the Southeast Missouri State University football team and currently works as an options trader.
The Scales brothers also dote on their sister, Reilly, from their mother’s second marriage. Reilly apparently has a medical condition and is on the path to better health after receiving a liver transplant in 2017.
Trina Braxton also has two sons, Eric and Caleb Mojica. However, she has not revealed the identity of their father.
Trina Braxton and Von Scales Are Engaged
Trina married Gabe Solis in 2003 when her son Eric was eight and Caleb was five. Solis also appeared on Braxton Family Values until their divorce in 2015.
Even after their split, their turbulent relationship was a hot topic on the show. Eric and Caleb didn’t seem too attached to their former stepfather when Trina said he was going to visit. But Solis was clearly an important part of Trina and her boys’ lives.
Solis was reportedly battling cancer in secret for a while. He passed away on December 20, 2018 in his hometown of San Antonio, Texas. He had been active on his Instagram a few days before his passing.
Trina confirmed the heartbreaking news on her Instagram, saying: “For over 16 years, Gabe Solis was an essential part of our lives.”
Though Trina was saddened by her ex-husband’s death, she had Von Scales by her side. The couple, who have been together for around a year, took their relationship to the next level in March.
Scales proposed to Trina during the Braxton family trip to Napa; he joined them to celebrate Tamar and Traci Braxton’s birthdays. The proposal was sweet, but the situation turned dramatic when birthday girl Tamar got upset.
If you recall, Tamar went on an explosive rant on Instagram live where she screamed at her sisters. “If I don’t have the attention from my sisters, who the f**k am I supposed to get it from?!” she yells during her epic meltdown.
Tamar later said that scene was caused by a little too much wine. She even congratulated her big sister and her new fiancé on Instagram.
Trina has forgiven her sister, too, something she’s learned much about since Solis’ death. “Everything is about forgiveness and moving forward,” she said. “You know, we’re getting older now and ever since my ex-husband, Gabe, passed away, I just realized how short life is. You know, the foolishness is just unnecessary and as long as we have breath in our bodies, there’s always time to make amends and reach resolve.”
While there are no hard feelings between Trina and Tamar over the proposal situation, this is drama you’re not going to want to miss. The BFV filming crew was present at the trip and we’re very likely to see Scales’ proposal to Trina as well as Tamar’s ensuing meltdown in season 6.
