MTV Video Music Awards Performers, The Chainsmokers and Hasley, got up close and personal on stage to perform their hit “Closer.” Currently the No. 1 song in the U.S., they stole the show with EDM beats, light shows, smoke and confetti. This VMA performance on August 28 was The Chainsmoker’s first ever at the VMAs. They were nominated for Best Electronic Video for their “Don’t Let Me Down” music video, which featured Daya. Two weeks ago, when Hasley finished her Badlands Tour at Madison Square Garden, The Chainsmokers joined her on stage as a surprise guest. It looks like the artists really enjoy performing together!
The collaborating artists, specifically Hasley and The Chainsmokers’ singer Andrew Taggart, got closer than ever at the VMAs. During the middle of the performance the two singers were nose-to-nose, and fans thought they were about to kiss! Later on, Taggart caressed her abdomen as he slowly walked behind her while singing the chorus. The pair seemed totally comfortable with each other – perhaps this means future EDM collabs? Or maybe more of a “romantic collaboration? Fans are hoping, and after last night’s steamy performance, the rumor mills are already all over it!
