On Wednesday, Cardi B appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Her real name is Belcalis Almanzar.
Cardi B spoke about how she got her stage name and said, “You know what, my sister’s name is Hennessy, so everybody used to call me Bacardi. Then it was my Instagram name, Bacardi, Bacardi B, but for some reason, my Instagram kept getting deleted. And you know what, I think it was Bacardi that had something to do with it. So I just changed it to Cardi B.”
The singer was candid about her career as a stripper since getting famous and quickly became an Internet sensation through her Instagram account. Cardi B even appeared on the VH1 show, Love & Hip Hop: New York from 2015 to 2017.
