Woody Allen Saved From Nasty Fall on Set

Award-winning director Woody Allen hasn’t lost his magical movie touch, but he did lose his footing, and had it not been for some helping hands, it could’ve ended much worse. Allen, 79, was at a beach in Malibu filming for his new movie and missed falling on jagged rocks by a hair’s breadth.

While the icon was treading over the rocks, he lost his balance and almost slipped. Allen looked a little shaken up while several of his assistants rushed to help him. The Midnight in Paris director was luckily saved by crew members around him from what could have definitely been a bone-breaking fall.

Following the five-time Oscar winner’s scare, his young star Kristen Stewart, of Twilight fame shot on the very same location bare-footed, but made sure to receive a helping hand. Co-starring alongside the Stewart, 25, in their third movie together is Jesse Eisenberg, 31.

This is the first time Allen is filming in L.A. after his 1977 hit Annie Hall.

On another note, the slapstick comedian confessed last month that he initially believed his relationship with current wife of 18 years, Soon-Yi Previn, was just going to be “a fling.”

Despite being married to the 44-year-old since 1997, he admitted that at the start of their May-December relationship, he thought it wouldn’t be serious, but added that “it had a life of its own.”

It wasn’t until they started spending more time together and began living together that he realized how serious it was getting. Allen told NPR in an interview, “I’m 35 years older [than her], and somehow through no fault of mine or hers, the dynamic worked.”

Back when the two first started dating, it caused quite a stir in the industry, given the reputed figure’s 12-year relationship with Mia Farrow, who was, by law, Previn’s adoptive mother.
