After her recent split from Gavin Rossdale, her husband of 13 years, Gwen Stefani could probably use some good news. And it came in the form of the Emmy award received by The Voice, the reality show that she hosts.
The pop singer shared a selfie on Facebook with the caption, “Omg driving home and my phone is blowing up!!! @nbcthevoice we just won an #emmy !!! Gx [sic].” What’s more, the 45-year-old’s post got about 40,000 likes in less than four hours and among them was Buzz Aldrin (the second man to set foot on the moon)! Stefani’s post was also shared 326 times and racked over 750 comments congratulating the star and The Voice.
Furthermore, Stefani recently revealed that she was inspired by the show a lot while writing songs—ten of which she now has done. “There’s just so much reward from it. It’s just different from other things I have done. It’s so fulfilling, so emotional,” the mother of two said, “And we get so caught up in it.” Stefani also said that her being a judge on the show’s seventh season eventually got her into a great place to compose her songs and to just open up in general to get to where she is today.
There are also rumors that Stefani will be collaborating with Skrillex, Blood Diamonds, and Diplo for her upcoming album. The singer posted a photo to Facebook a couple of days ago featuring a drawing of artists that looked similar to the mentioned three, and included a caption saying that she was penning a “rad” song with them.
Meanwhile, the ninth season of the Emmy-winning reality show The Voice is set to air on September 21, 2015 on NBC. Along with Stefani taking over from Christina Aguilera, the show will also feature A-listers such as Rihanna, Missy Elliot, and Selena Gomez. Previous panel members Adam Levine and Blake Shelton, who have been part of the show since the first season, along with Pharrell Williams, who joined in the seventh season, will all return for the ninth installment.
