With the absence of Game of Thrones on television, Fox’s Empire seems to have gripped everyone. With huge names such as Pitbull, Ne-Yo, and Rita Ora guest starring, along with powerful leading stars like Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson, the series has driven even celebrity fans of the show absolutely crazy!
For instance, when Alicia Keys appeared on the show last night as Skye Summers and shared a steamy kiss with the openly gay character Jamal (played by Jussie Smollett), Key’s husband, Swizz Beatz, revealed his reaction via Instagram. The image he posted was of himself wearing a rather distressed expression as he appeared to be watching the show. He captioned it, “Watching #empire like [sic],” with several smiley faces and wide-eyed emoticons to it. His fans simply could not control their laughter. One commented, “That moment was passionate, I even felt it lol [sic],” while another joked, “Nooooo. This is the look of watching JLO at the AMA [sic].”
Beatz later also shared a video posted by Floyd Mayweather’s baby mama, Melissia Rene, where a boy is shown dancing crazily to Justin Bieber’s “Where Are U Now,” and captioned it, “AK got #jussiesmollett like #empire this is getting crazy.”
Alicia Keys isn’t the only big name to make an appearance on Empire. Even Rosie O’Donnell, who was until very recently only a fan of the show, became a guest star! The show’s creator, Lee Daniels, heard that she was a fan and invited her to do a cameo. While nerves threatened to get the best of her, O’Donnell overcame it and did a fantastic job playing the ex-prison mate of Cookie (Taraji P. Henson’s character).

And as if these shocks were not enough, the writers of the show revealed another huge returning cast member—Naomi Campbell! In the role of Hakeem’s (played by Bryshere Y. Gray) ex-girlfriend, the supermodel shared the news with fans via Twitter. Additionally, Mariah Carey will also appear in a yet to be announced role. And judging by the buildup of the series, as well as the excitement and anticipation of fans, the fall finale set to air on December 5 is sure to be one hell of a roller coaster.
