This is surely another “foot in mouth” situation for a celebrity, but the worst part is it involves a taunt on the beloved and legendary singer Prince, who passed away yesterday (April 21). Almost everyone around the world is missing Prince, Hollywood celebrities have been sharing their feelings on social media as tribute to Prince’s undying legacy. However, Justin Bieber’s “Prince tribute” is the worst and most unexpected comment made today. What Justin Bieber said on Prince has hurt millions of music lovers across the world. Or, is this another case of Justin Bieber being misunderstood?

All that people want to know is why did Justin Bieber say that Prince isn’t “the last greatest living performer”? It’s always been a tradition to tribute any phenomenal celebrity who has dies by regarding them with being the best of their time. And, when it comes to Prince’s death, the iconic musician is closely regarded as another music legend in the same ranks as Michael Jackson and Elvis Presley.

While Justin Bieber’s Instagram hasn’t shared a single tribute to Prince, the 22-year-old pop singer commented on musician Andrew Watt’s photo. Watt’s Instagram photo below shows how many musicians like himself were influenced by Prince’s music and were deeply saddened by his demise. According to Mashable, when Watts penned Prince as the last greatest living performer, Bieber replied his photo by commenting, “Well not the last greatest living performer [sic].”

While people are busying trying to find out how did Prince die, Justin Bieber’s comment has certainly put the scrutiny on him, and for the worse.

This past Tuesday night before my show I was picking out an outfit…I was so tired from the past week of endless traveling and gigging that I grabbed my Prince shirt and said fuck it I’m gonna channel the purple one tonight…I didn’t shower after the gig out of pure exhaustion…I went to sleep in that shirt and then I wore it again all day yesterday…today waking up to this news I am truly beside myself…devastated…the last of the greatest living performers…my guitar idol…his connection to ALL his instruments yielded a sexual transcending aura and the world is just less fucking cool without him walking on it… “Electric word life It means forever and that’s a mighty long time But I’m here to tell you There’s something else… The after world” #RIPPRINCE
