Things soon turned dramatic at the reality star’s success party.
Not only does SUR bartender Jax Taylor go MIA for half the party, but when he finally wanders in, he gets sent home by Lisa Vanderpump. She calls him “an ungrateful a**hole” and tells him he’s “selfish.”
Vanderpump’s friend and designer, Kevin Lee, also provides some gasp-worthy moments at the party, when he tells Maloney that she needs to lose weight! When Vanderpump spots Maloney looking low, she learns about what went down.
“Kevin Lee, I’ve always thought he was amazing, and I was talking to him and I was pouring champagne, and then he was like ‘What happened to you?’… Like you gained a lot of weight,’” Maloney tells Vanderpump.
Lee also told her, “You were much thinner than this … you have to work on it, seriously, I’m telling you as a friend.”
Vanderpump reassures Maloney that she is “the most beautiful girl at the restaurant,” and Tom Schwartz soon consoles his wife, saying how sexy he finds her.
Katie Maloney’s Skylight Accident
On November 9, 2009, Maloney had a bad fall from a skylight. She fell 25 feet and broke her jaw, collarbone, some teeth, and several ribs.
Katie Maloney’s scar is a reminder of her accident. And although doctors said they could surgically remove it, she wanted it to stay with her.
Maloney said in an interview, “I like my scar. It gives me character and it’s a badge of honor. I went through something crazy, but I’m still here.”
“I also suffered a small brain injury. I’m very lucky and I am a different person today because of that day. I now call it my re-birthday. Don’t take anything for granted, life is special,” Maloney said in an Instagram post, clearing any doubts from fans.
Maloney tattooed 11.09.09 on her inner arm. And she makes sure that she celebrates the date with her husband every year.
Although Katie Maloney’s body changed, she knows exactly where she is headed. The reality star is a strong woman who knows she is lucky to have received a second chance at life—and she doesn’t let a small thing like haters get in her way!
