Move over Beethoven, the “Yeethoven” orchestra is here! Kanye West has collaborated with Ludwig van Beethoven, despite the latter being long dead, and the mix of sound created over a century apart actually sounds pretty good together!

On April 16, the Young Musicians Foundation, as part of their “Great Music Series,” held the first ever Yeethoven (a portmanteau of the names “Yeezus”—which is the title of West’s sixth studio album— and “Beethoven”) concert at the Aratani Theatre in Los Angeles. The free event featured six songs from Yeezus alongside six of Beethoven’s classics, all played by the 70-piece Young Musicians Foundation Orchestra. Songs included Kanye West’s “New Slaves” and “Blood on the Leaves” among others.

Check out the video below to hear the orchestra’s rendition of Kanye West’s “Blood on the Leaves” combined with the classical music of Beethoven—a man we wouldn’t be surprised if West already compared himself to!
