Beyonce’s Lemonade has been stirring up all sorts of controversy since its release and the Dixie Chicks decided to speak up in defense of Queen Bey.
With the backlash that Lemonade is receiving from ignorant critics all over, country music fans and critics are honing in on the track “Daddy Lessons,” which has a twang-y country vibe to it. These critics claim that the song is not country enough for a variety of flimsy reasons, so country rock band the Dixie Chicks have defended Beyonce.
Not that Beyonce needs any defending since she’s a fiery superstar who has no time for haters, but we doubt she’s unappreciative of the added support from the Dixie Chicks, who are known not only for their music but for their unashamed political activism as well.
In support of Queen Bey’s tribute to her father and the country genre, the Dixie Chicks performed a rockin’ cover of “Daddy Lessons” at their concert in Manchester last Friday (April 29).
