Game of Thrones just got more interesting than before. And, the credit goes to return of it’s “prodigal son”: Jon Snow. Jon Snow is back in the Game of Thrones universe and he is ready to be a part of the race towards conquering the Iron Throne. As the dynasties of from the Seven Kingdoms are getting ready to engage in a bloodier battle, the prophecy of Jon Snow’s return has been proved true. A Game of Thrones recap of last night’s (Sunday) episode, “Home,” will help you remember the climax epic where Jon Snow comes back to life.

Almost every GoT viewer is delighted to know that Jon Snow lives to be a possible ruler of the Iron Throne. Knowing that Jon Snow (Kit Harrington) is alive has really brought back a hope to the fans of HBO’s blockbuster fiction saga. With every crucial character unexpectedly dying in the previous seasons of Game of Thrones, people can now release a sigh of relief knowing that Jon Snow is back this season. As we watched Game of Thrones season 6 episode 2 last night, the ending scenes is where we skipped a heart beat.

Seeing Jon Snow awaken right at the end of Game of Thrones season six episode two, “Home,” is what made the weekend  more enjoyable. The GoT fans are glad to find out that Jon Snow lives. Considering the rough and cold-hearted plot of the show, many of us expected that Jon Snow might not return. But he did, so you must know exactly how it happened. But, before we find out how Jon Snow came back to life, you might want to recall the way he died in the last season of Game of Thrones.

End of Jon Snow

In the finale episode of Game of Thrones season 5, Jon Snow was brutally murdered by his own mates. We’re sure you remember the way Jon was deceived by the members of Night’s Watch. They brutally and insensitively stabbed to death. After hacking Jon’s back and torso, they left him dying on the cold ground.

The last time we saw Kit Harrington’s charming face in the Game of Thrones universe was when Jon Snow’s eyes faded out to his death as blood began running down the ground. At that time, most of us wished for his return this season. Some of the fans even expressed their desire to see him as a dead cold White Walker.

How Did Jon Snow Come Back to Life?

On the “Home” episode last night (May 1), it was Melisandre (Carice van Houten) who brought Jon Snow back to life. The red woman’s spells worked well on the dead, cold body of Jon Snow. At least, now, we feel grateful about Melisandr since she brought Lord Coammnder back!

It was the first time Melisandre was a bit insecure about her magic. She first cleaned Snow’s wounds on his dead body. Then, she cut some locks of his hair and laid her hand on Jon to begin the incantation. Melisandra screams, “Please!” begging her mystical powers to bring Jon back to life. After several attempts, she and Ser Davos (Liam Cunnigham) give up and leave the body on the room. Jon’s body is accompanied by Ghost, Jon’s wolf. It’s fairly certain that the wolf had something to do with Jon Snow coming back to life. In spite of Melisandre’s magical failing, Jon Snow still came back to life at the end.
