The UEFA Euro 2016 Standings begin with four strong contenders brought together in a single group, which is Group A. After the first week, Group A standings are lead by the host itself. France tops the Euro 2016 Group A points table with one win against Romania. Switzerland comes in second place after their 1-0 win over Albania. Romania readies itself for a comeback from third place, leaving Albania at the bottom of the current Group A standings.

After beating Slovakia in their first group stage bout, Wales is leading the Euro 2016 Group B standings with three points and will advance into the next phase. England and Russia are tied at the second spot after Saturday night’s draw. Sadly, the Slovakian squad has to work hard to give up that bottom position and move to the top of the Group B standings.

There’s no doubt that Germany would never step down from championing the UEFA Euro 2016  group stages. With Sunday’s 2-0 victory over Ukraine, Germany will hopefully rule the Group C standings. But, Poland is on its way to snatch Germany’s position and move ahead from its number two position. Northern Ireland and Ukraine are working hard to make the desirable change in the Group C points table and to overcome the lead of the top two giants.

The reigning UEFA European Champion will always be a group stage winner no matter team which other team gets clubbed with them. That’s why the UEFA Euro 2012 and 2008 winners are in the second spot of the Group D standings. Spain defeated Czech Republic, which as the third place, and is ready to take on Turkey on June 17. Turkey has hit the bottom rock in the Euro 2016 points table when Croatia defeated the team to grab the first place spot in the Group D standings.

Italy scored two goals in yesterday’s match against Belgium, making itself the first team to top the Group E standings. But, Belgium, the second best team in the FIFA World Rankings, will fight back to leave that bottom position. Sweden and Republic of Ireland remain at the middle of the Group E standings with an equal chance of making it to the top of the Euro 2016 points table.

Even though their first group stage matches begin later on today (June 14), Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal is ranked at number four on the current Euro 2016 Group F rankings. Iceland is at the third spot, Austria at the first, and Hungary at the second. With the outcome of today’s games, the Group F standings won’t remain the same, and with them, they will make a major shift on the Euro 2016 points table.
