Based on their history, the Russia lineup is expected to provide stiff competition and fans have already been planning their own Russia predicted lineup as the England vs. Russia UEFA Euro 2016 game is slated to start this weekend. And since Russia is expected to light up Euro 2016, we decided to look at the some of the players from the Russia football team.

The Russia football team is run by retired football (soccer) player Leonid Slutsky, and chances are he does in fact run a tight ship. The 45-year-old ex-footballer took over the Russian national team in 2015 and, surprisingly, Russia won all their qualifying matches, which took them to the Euro 2016. The Russian team is also facing a drug scandal at the moment, so everyone will be watching their performances much more closely.

Aleksandr Kokorin

The 25-year-old striker is often used as a right wing, and he hasn’t had the best club season. It’s expected that he will definitely play in France, but things may not go so well for him. This makes him a likely weakness for the Russia lineup.

Dmitri Kombarov

After losing Yuri Zhirkov to a sporting injury, it’s very likely that Kombarov will be one of the replacements as full-back. Since he’s an attack-minded player, Kombarov will most likely be given a starting slot in the game on June 11.

Fyodor Smolov

Smolov is a promising choice and he has scored 20 points in the past during the Russian Premier League along with several assists.

Hopefully Russia won’t have a hard time facing beatable groups as they have in the past, but anything is possible. Both teams may surprise fans, but just because they may be good on paper, doesn’t mean that will automatically translate in the game.
