Some celebrities pick winners, have lucky draws, or simply publicize their products online. However, the way Pharrell Williams just advertised his new line of “Ice Cream” shoes will seriously blow your mind. The “Happy” hitmaker flung a pair of his new shoes, which he produced in collaboration with adidas and Billionaire Boys Club, onto cable wires somewhere in Melrose, L.A. Posting an image of this on Instagram, he challenged his followers to find it, writing, “FREE ICECREAMS ON MELROSE SIZE 9.”

Much to Williams’ surprise, someone took them down very soon! An Instagram user by the name of Cedric Grandberry was the lucky winner. And the singer shared a video by the winner, who said in it, “Hey P, I got these shoes bruh, you know what I’m saying? I knew exactly where it was so I came and got em. You feelin me? [sic]” Williams, 42, expressed his surprise in the caption, saying, “Woah. How did you get them down?”
Fans had some ridiculous theories for this! They wrote, “He hopped in the car in a quickness, barefoot and everything lmao [sic],” and, “I believe he can fly By A.Kelly [sic].” However, young Grandberry had a small request—he asked Williams to sign them if he was still in the area.
The sneakers sure were a great grab, as they feature the singer’s iconic “Ice Cream” print of diamonds and dollar signs. Initially creating his Ice Cream brand back in 2005, Williams gained a massive fan following. They go on sale today and are priced at a whopping $200 a pair.
