Valentine’s Day is the perfect time to reintroduce some spark and sizzle into your May-December relationship. This year, it not only falls on a Saturday, but it falls on the Saturday before Presidents’ Day, which makes for the perfect opportunity to escape with your older man for a little long-weekend getaway.
Travel has been shown to improve the level of satisfaction in a relationship. It’s also been shown to lead to more romance and better sex after the vacation is over. In one survey, couples who traveled together reported having a better sex life than couples who didn’t travel. And 60% of the couples polled said that getting away together had more of a positive impact on their relationship than exchanging gifts did. Need we say more?
If you’re wondering where you and your older man should jet off to this Valentine’s Day to celebrate your May-December relationship, here are a few suggestions:
1. New York City: It doesn’t come as much of a surprise that this is one of the most sought-after travel hot spots for couples, thanks to its roster of fine dining experiences and unbelievable date night venues. This is also the perfect travel destination for single ladies, because according to a popular dating web site, New York is home to the largest percentage of millionaire members registered on the site.
2. Las Vegas: This is always a popular travel pick for couples because it’s got something for everyone, especially if you’re just going for the weekend. You may not have time to go to Italy, but you can ride the gondolas at the Venetian hotel, or if you’re feeling more like Paris, you can snap a PDA-packed picture of you and your older man in front of the Eiffel Tower at the Paris hotel. One of the best parts about Vegas is that nothing is off limits, so feel free to flaunt your May-December relationship all you want.
3. Chicago: You might not think of the Windy City as a romantic travel destination for your May-December relationship, but there’s actually a lot for you and your older man to do, like walk along the pier or enjoy a night out with dinner and a show. If you’re not interested in braving the colder temperatures, it’s the perfect excuse to book a suite at a five-star hotel and spend some quality time together indoors.
4. Quebec City: It’s really only a two-hour flight from New York City and it’s the closest you can get to Europe without actually going there. The cobble streets, Medieval-style architecture, fine French cuisine, and five-star hotels make this Canadian city the perfect retreat for a romantic weekend away.
