Zooey Deschanel’s “Mom’s Pecan Pie”

New Girl star, Zooey Deschanel guest appeared on the Rachel Ray show to share her mother’s pecan pie recipe. She stole the show by explaining (in her adorably quirky way) every little detail in the process of making the pie. The recipe includes eggs, melted butter, flour, dark corn syrup, sugar, vanilla, and loads of pecans. After placing the pastry in the pan, you put the pecans inside and then pour the mix of ingredients on top of the pecans. To make it the way Deschanel’s mom does it, drizzle some molasses over the top. Bake, let it cool for a few minutes, and serve!

Tori Spelling’s Kid-Friendly Turkey

Parents know how challenging it can be to encourage young kids to eat everything on their plate at Thanksgiving dinner. Tori Spelling came up with a great idea to ease kids into the Thanksgiving-style meals. Instead of carving off a slice of turkey, she recommends using turkey hot dogs! Carrots, mashed potatoes, green peas, cranberry sauce are the other ingredients you’ll need. Now is the time to get creative! Using a makeshift funnel out of a plastic zip lock bag, she puts the warm mashed potatoes inside and creates an outline of a turkey tail. Then, she carefully places the turkey dogs, carrots and peas to decorate the tail. Finally, she uses ketchup to write “Gobble, gobble,” on top of the plate and voila! The kid-friendly turkey meal is ready to serve! Want to see how it looks? Visit her website here and check it out!
