These days, Owens is reportedly in a fair amount of financial trouble, especially in his personal life. He is the father of four children, two sons and two daughters, by four different women. He was sued by his baby mama Melanie Paige Smith III in September 2011, for his failure to pay child support. The matter was settled before trial and Owens said that he could not pay because of his decreasing wages in the NFL. At one time, Owens was reportedly paying $60,000 a month to each of his four baby mamas, as well as rent of $63,000 a month for the homes they lived in.

Even though he earned more than $70.0 million during his illustrious career in the NFL, in November 2011, Owens told a judge that he was completely broke because he was no longer playing in the NFL. He then asked the court to reduce his child support payments. He was later forced to sell his house in Sherman Oaks, San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles, for $2.0 million. Terrell Owens’ house was an East Coast-inspired property built in 2013, with French white oak floors, double hung picture windows, a wide porch, step-down living room with raised ceilings, a fireplace, and a chef’s kitchen. The house had 4,888 sq.ft. of living space with five bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, a master suite, a massive walk-in closet, a covered patio, a swimming pool and spa with a waterfall, and a three-car garage.

Moonlighting on Television

His home in Georgia reportedly went into foreclosure, and he had no choice but to move into his girlfriend’s apartment in Los Angeles. In fact, Terrell Owens’ net worth is currently listed as $0 by some sources, which is shocking for someone who was a multi-millionaire not so long ago! He has since earned money through television appearances. One of Terrell Owens’ TV shows was The T.O. Show, which premiered on VH1 in summer 2009 and detailed his personal life off the football field. The show ran for three seasons. Owens also recently competed on the latest season of Dancing with the Stars, and finished in eighth place. He is currently on MTV’s The Challenge: Champs vs. Stars, which premiered on November 21, 2017.

In Need of a Miracle

According to Owens, he has been broke for a while now. In 2014, he filed court documents claiming that he had no money to pay his estranged wife, Rachel Snider’s legal fees. He said that he could not find a job because, “Besides my athletic abilities, I do not have any special skill set or education that makes me employable. I use my celebrity status as a former NFL player as much as possible as I struggle to earn a living to support my children.” It is a sad sight to see an amazing football player struggle to keep his life and family together. If ever anybody needed a miracle, it is surely Terrell Owens!
