If you’ve ever been to a concert, you likely kept your eyes glued to the performers, maybe also making note of the backup dancers. But the truth is that each performance requires the effort of an entire team of people to make sure the show is exciting and safe. Unfortunately, these backstage heroes rarely get the credit they deserve—until now, thanks to Taylor Swift.
The singer-songwriter took to Facebook earlier today to thank her 125-person team following the vacation to Hamilton Island, Australia she took them on to show her appreciation for helping to pull off her successful 1989 World Tour. “So stoked to be able to take my band and crew on a vacation at the end of a long and wonderful tour. For all their hard work this year, they really deserve it,” said Swift in the post, which included a picture of her entire touring crew. She also took the time to show appreciation to the residents of Hamilton Island for housing them and to share a word of advice for the Australian media; namely, that she wanted to have a quiet birthday and not get too excited.
Swift’s fans showed their appreciation for the crew as well, not just with the comments, but with the over 870 shares and 25,500 likes. But that’s not to say that the comments weren’t heartfelt as well. “You are fantastic in honouring your crew and band in this way; thank you to all for all the work put into such a fabulous tour,” one fan posted. “Thank you Taylor and your amazing crew, band and dancers for all the hard work and effort into making this the best tour I’ve been to!” commented another. “You are amazing for showing appreciation to your crew in such a way.”
With praise from both their boss and her fans, it’s a safe bet that Taylor Swift’s road crew will work even harder in 2016, which will only mean bigger and better things for the pop princess!
