The wait is finally over and season 7 has arrived, just in time for viewers to reconnect with Chicago’s favorite South Side dysfunctional family, the Gallaghers! The Gallaghers:
Frank
Played by William H. Macy, Frank is the reckless and neglectful father of the Gallagher siblings, and is a full-time alcoholic and bad influence. He’s often a burden to his kids…and the entire neighborhood. Every one of his children, from his oldest to his youngest child, tries to lock him out of the house, but Frank always finds a way to get back in. Last season, Frank ruined Fiona’s wedding and was even thrown into the Chicago River by his kids! This season, he wakes up and realizes that no one looked for him. Can you blame them?
Fiona
Fiona, played by Emmy Rossum, is finally going to be focusing on herself this season. She has even tattooed the word “warrior” on her right forearm, to remind herself not to lean on men for her happiness. And despite rumors, Emmy Rossum (Fiona) will be returning this season and is even getting her directorial debut on a Shameless episode, airing October 23! After taking care of everyone for years, Fiona is now going to be seen surrounding herself with strong, independent and powerful women—a role model she’s never had before.
Phillip “Lip”
Last season, Lip (Jeremy Allen White) got a ride from his professor, who took him to a rehab center to help him, after he spiraled out of control with his drinking.
Debbie
Debbie (Emma Kenney) is trying to give her daughter Franny, the best possible life and starts to steal expensive baby products to resell them for money. She also steals several credit cards in the process! Side note: hide your wallet!
Carl
Carl (Ethan Cutkosky) dealt with trying to be “black,” after being sent to a juvenile detention center. Now, he’s back on the streets and he has turned a new leaf. He has a girlfriend, who has a problem with him not being circumcised, even though for some reason, all of his brothers and father are. So naturally, he has the procedure done and pays in cash! Ouch!
Ian
Cameron Monaghan plays Ian, who is bipolar (like his mother) and is a paramedic, who has a boyfriend. Except that his boyfriend/colleague may be cheating on him with an old girlfriend, Denise! Certainly a fickle situation to be uncovered this season!
