Floyd Mayweather Jr. needs no introduction. The highly talented athlete has already retired from professional boxing at the young age of 38. From owning of the most expensive and exclusive cars in the world to traveling around the globe, this man spares no chance to show off his wealth.
Being named the world’s highest paid athlete back-to-back from 2012 to 2014 is no joke and Mayweather illustrates just that. He posted a black-and-white image on Facebook and Instagram of himself walking along the shore. But it’s the caption he posted along with it that really caught everyone’s attention. Mayweather wrote, “Somewhere in the tropical world doing what the f*ck I want to do and yes, I retired before the age of 40,” along with several emoticons representing money and travel.
Although Mayweather’s post surely made quite a few people go green with envy, over 91,000 people on Facebook and 117,000 on Instagram “liked” the update! Fans even showed how much they love Mayweather in the comments they left. One wrote, “Any man that retires in his 30’s and has left the sport of boxing without brain damage after 20+ years has my respect.” That is relevant, given that Mayweather ventured into professional boxing at just 19 and retired only last month at 38 with no significant injuries. On the other hand, a second user said, “Homes, you should never retire from hard work [sic].”
For Mayweather, enjoying retirement means embarking on a luxurious trip around the globe. He was in Cuba two days ago, prior to which he flew to Bora Bora with pop singer Justin Bieber. Before that he graced Miami to promote his “The Money Team” line of apparel and accessories.
