At 48, actress Salma Hayek looks incredible for her age, but many have assumed that she maintained her looks by going under the knife. The actress cleared up the rumors during a recent interview to be featured in Allure magazine. (She also posed topless for an accompanying photo.)
Hayek revealed that she was pressured from a young age to undergo Botox. “When I was young, they tried to sell me on the idea: ‘If you do it now, then you won’t get the wrinkles,’” she said, adding that she never bought into it and has never had any anti-aging surgery done.
Instead of relying on plastic surgery, Salma Hayek says she gets her confidence and youthfulness from her successful marriage to billionaire businessman, Francois-Henri Pinault. “I wish I knew [when I was younger] that I was going to fall crazy in love with the perfect man,” she says in the interview, adding that had she known she was going to end up with a man who adores her, she would’ve saved herself a lot of grief.
Fans also have Pinault to thank for Hayek’s return to the big screen. She was ready to quit acting after giving birth to their daughter in 2007, but it was her husband who encouraged her to make a comeback. He reportedly told her that he himself wanted to watch her work, telling her, “The world has not seen the best of you yet. So you cannot stop until some of that is put out.”
