Robin Thicke to Estranged Wife, Paula Patton: Take Me Back!

Earlier this week, it was revealed that Robin Thicke and his actress wife, Paula Patton, were separating after nearly nine years of marriage, although they’ve been together since they were young teens. Although no reason was cited for the celebrity couple’s sudden split, there’s a very good chance that it had something to do with Robin Thicke’s recent behavior with much younger women.

According to insiders, the trouble with their marriage first started after Thicke’s raunchy and controversial performance with Miley Cyrus at the MTV Video Music Awards back in August 2013. His wife reportedly felt “utterly disrespected” by the spectacle, especially because it happened in front of millions of viewers. Although Paula Patton supported and defended her husband in interviews, that was supposedly the beginning of the end for this celebrity couple.

The real blow to the celebrity couple’s marriage came when Robin Thicke was accused of having an affair with a much younger woman at a party, while his wife stood just a few feet away. Patton seemingly had enough and decided she wanted out. But Thicke has made it very clear that he’s not giving up without a fight and will do whatever he can to appease his wife and save his marriage.

At a concert a few days after news of their separation surfaced, Thicke told the audience, “For y’all that don’t know, me and my wife separated, but I’m trying to get my girl back. She’s a good woman.” He then performed his famous song Lost Without U, admitting that he had written it for his now estranged wife. Thicke wore his wedding ring throughout the performance. On a side note, Paula Patton was spotted at the airport before the concert and had already removed her wedding ring.

Reporters caught up with Thicke at the airport after the concert and when they asked about the situation with his wife, he reiterated that he was “just trying to get her back.” That same day, Paula Patton’s house was being bombarded with oversized, elaborate floral arrangements.

There’s no word yet on whether or not the celebrity couple will be able to salvage their marriage, and even sources close to the celebrity couple have no idea what the outcome will be. “Who knows what will happen?” one insider told People. “They do love each other. They are very good friends and will continue to be as strong and as good friends as they can be.”

Whether or not the celebrity couple gets back together, they’ll likely still remain close, even if it’s just for the sake of their three-year-old son. “I can truly see them being the best of friends no matter what happens,” said another source. “They still admire each other. She’ll always be his biggest fan and he’ll always write songs about her and put her on a pedestal.”
