Who is Rihanna dating? After all the talk about the Anti singer allegedly feuding with Golden State Warriors player Kevin Durant, everyone is wondering if the singer is seeing someone special. Rihanna’s boyfriend list is normally comprised of singers mostly, but lately, she hasn’t been caught in public with anyone. Who could be Rihanna’s boyfriend for 2017?
Over the years, Rihanna’s dating timeline has seen the good, the bad and the ugly. Her fans have grown with her, inspired her and learned from her, as she took over the music industry. From on-and-off again boyfriends, to never-again boyfriends, we will be going down the list of the guys that stood out the most of Rihanna’s boyfriends.
Chris Brown and Rihanna
Chris Brown would be classified as a never-again boyfriend, and with very good reason. They started out as friends in 2005, but didn’t publicly admit their relationship until 2008. She went on one date with Shia LaBeouf, but they agreed there was no spark and stayed friends. By now, everyone knows the story of their love story when Brown attacked Rihanna in 2009 during an argument in a car. Since then, the exes surprised and confused the world when they collaborated in 2012 (“Nobody’s Business” and the remix of “Birthday Cake”) but they never pursued an intimate relationship again. The only thing we can agree on is that they make good music, but not good partners.
Drake and Rihanna
Canadian rapper Drake falls in the on-an-off-again boyfriend column. The two started dating in 2009, and have been getting everyone’s hopes up ever since. Will they or won’t they? It’s been a burning question for years and it has fans curious as to who will be the ones to truly make either of them happy.
In the past, Rihanna opened up to then-Hot 97 host Angie Martinez, about her and Drake being together.
“I definitely was attracted to Drake, but I think it is what it is, like it was what it was,” Rihanna told Martinez. “We didn’t want to take it any further. It was at a really fragile time in my life, so I just didn’t want to get too serious with anything or anyone at that time.”
In a past interview with The New York Times, Drake told the newspaper that he was being used by the singer in a way that he used women in the past.
“She was doing exactly what I’ve done to so many women throughout my life,” he said. “Which is, show them quality time, then disappear. I was like, wow, this feels terrible.”
In 2016, when Rihanna presented Drake with the Vanguard Award at the MTV Music Awards, the “Hotline Bling” singer used that time to tell Rihanna that he’s loved her since he was 22 years old.
“The first time I met Robyn Fenty [Rihanna’s real name] was in 2005,” Drake said. “She was shooting a music video at a restaurant called Avocado in Toronto. The song was ‘Pon de Replay’ and the director was Little X. I was introduced to her… It’s hard to believe that 11 years later we’d come together to create the visual for a song called ‘Work.’ Today the world knows X as Director X… 11 years later, they still know Rihanna as the one and only Rihanna.”
He continued,” She’s someone I’ve been in love with since I was 22 years old. …She’s one of my best friends in the world. All my adult life I’ve looked up to her even though she’s younger than me.”
But sadly after that heartfelt speech and a heap of rumored romance, the two remained good friends and nothing more, for now anyway.
Kevin Durant and Rihanna?
There’s nothing between Durant and the “Work” singer, but he has tweeted how much he loves her and wouldn’t mind dating her. At the moment, fans have come to their own conclusion that Durant was staring at Rihanna after her comments she made during Game 1 of the Cavaliers vs. the Warriors. So far, Durant has laughed it off, and denied any hate for the singer.
So, it looks like at this time, Rihanna is single. Rumors of a boyfriend in Rihanna’s life are always circulating, and she’s known to ask guys on stage for a lap dance at her concerts (with their girlfriends full blessing!), so maybe Durant still has a chance?
