The family and fans of the late rapper, Tupac Shakur still want closure for his murder in 1996. Suge Knight has made new allegations against Reggie Wright Jr., the former head of security at Death Row Records, saying that Knight was the intended target in an assassination orchestrated by Wright and his ex-wife, Sharitha Golden.

Who killed Tupac? That question has haunted police officers, detectives, family members, fans and friends of the rapper for the last 20 years. Tupac Shakur, whose real name was Lesane Parish Crooks, was an American rapper, record producer, actor, activist, and poet, who sold more than 75 million records worldwide. In fact, his double disc albums, All Eyez On Me and his Greatest Hits are among the highest-selling albums in the United States. Tupac was gunned down by unidentified men in a drive-by shooting on September 7, 1996 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He died in hospital six days later. Now, new revelations from Death Row Records co-founder, Suge Knight claim that Tupac was killed by Reggie Wright Jr. and Suge Knight’s ex-wife, Sharitha Golden. We have details from Reggie Wright Jr’s wiki, right here.

Who is Reggie Wright Jr.?

Reggie Wright Jr. was the head of security for Death Row Records at the time of Tupac’s murder, and was a close colleague of Suge Knight. After Knight was sent to prison (in connection of Terry Carter’s death), it was Wright who looked after the day-to-day operations of the iconic music label. Wright did his best to run the label, even though he was accused of having a hand in Tupac’s murder. He spent most of his time fighting lawsuits and trying to prevent an exodus of artists leaving for other labels, including Snoop Dogg. To make things worse, he was implicated in the murder of Tupac’s rival, Biggie Smalls, but was never charged.

Reggie Wright Jr. is once again in the spotlight because Suge Knight has made some stunning claims about Tupac’s murder, which remains unsolved after over 20 years. Knight now says that Wright and his ex-wife were the ones behind Tupac’s murder. What’s more troubling, is that Knight alleges that he was actually the intended target, not the rapper. Knight appears to have spoken out after going through the “salient points” of a new documentary about Tupac called Tupac Assassination: Battle for Compton. The documentary is based on a book titled Tupac: 187 The Red Knight, and Suge Knight has confirmed that the theories brought up in the book are true.

Tupac was Collateral Damage

If Suge Knight’s allegations are true, then Reggie Wright Jr. and Sharitha Golden plotted to murder Knight. However, the hit went wrong, and Tupac was the one who was killed. Knight says they tried to kill him because he was still married to Sharitha at that time and if he had died in that hit, everything he owned would have gone to her. His claims mean that the greed-driven plot gone wrong resulted in the untimely death of the young, talented rapper.

Waiting for Evidence

Wright has completely denied the allegations made by Suge Knight and others before him. Even though some of his own employees have suggested that Reggie Wright Jr. was responsible for Tupac’s death, Wright has dismissed their claims. However, this round of allegations cannot be taken lightly as Knight is trying to strike a deal with authorities. It is not clear whether or not the evidence Knight has against Wright is true, but he seems to be pretty confident. People are keeping a close eye on this case, and Reggie Wright Jr. is smack dab in the middle of it, yet again. If tangible evidence can be presented, the case of Tupac Shakur’s death might finally be closed.
