Reese Witherspoon now has not one, but two reasons to celebrate. The Academy Award-winning actress shared with her Instagram followers that her already full family of a husband (actor Jim Toth) and three children will be getting even bigger—she adopted a dog!
The 39-year-old posted an image of her terrier nestled between her legs while she cradled her face, and added the caption, “Drum roll please!!!! Introducing the newest member to our family #LouAnn !! #bullterrier #madlyinlove (just look at that face *sigh) [sic].”
The Walk the Line star’s picture got about 80,000 likes in less than six hours—it’s since racked up almost 95,000—along with several thousand comments. Many fans cooed over the dog with “aww’s” and “oooh’s,” and some even expressed their wish to have a Bull Terrier just like Witherspoon’s.
Witherspoon actually hinted about her new puppy on Twitter by asking her fans, “What’s white and black and fuzzy and cute and sweet and charming? Any guesses?” She even responded to some of the guesses before premiering her new pooch an hour later.
The other good news comes in the form of the 29th American Cinematheque Mid-Career Achievement Award. What’s more, her Mud co-star, Matthew McConaughey will be the one presenting it to her at the upcoming annual charity gala, which will be held by Cinematheque on October 30 in Los Angeles at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza.
However, Witherspoon will not only be recognized for her successful acting career, but also for her role as a producer of films such as Wild and Gone Girl, under her production company, Pacific Standard.
