If you grew up in the suburbs or the country, you are probably familiar with the long tradition of the corn maze. Farmer’s fields with mazes cut into them, often decorated with Halloween or fall decorations. Some of them are simple, others are difficult, and almost all of them are decked out with Halloween decorations to celebrate the once a year festivals.
You won’t find them in many cities, but on the outskirts of towns, so if you’re searching for “corn mazes near me,” the best ones are out in the country! And in the spirit of Halloween, some of the mazes will hire people to dress up and scare you! (Feel sorry for those employees because at least once a shift, they are punched or kicked right in the privates by a child they have startled. Sounds like a lot of fun doesn’t it?) All of this may have you wondering things like, “Where is the corn maze near me?” “Is there a big corn maze near me?” “Where can I find the corn maze & pumpkin patch near me?” Well, you can stop looking because you’ve come to the right place. We’ve done some digging and have come up with a list of the best Halloween themed, haunted, daytime and night time corn mazes in America, just for you! Hopefully at least one of them is nearby!
New York State
While finding a haunted corn maze near me in New York City may be difficult (due to the lack of fields and corn), there are a number of corn mazes and similar attractions outside the city limits. Here are a few examples.
Abbott Farms, Baldwinsville
Address: 3275 Cold Springs Road, Baldwinsville, NY 13027
The corn maze at Abbot Farms is HUGE.
Not only that, when night falls, it becomes a spooky maze; but it is requested that you bring your own flashlight!
Amazing Maize Maze
Address: 73-50 Little Neck Parkway, Floral Park
Harbes Family Farmington
Address: 715 Sound Ave, Mattituck
While not spooky per say, this maze has a Robin Hood theme and you occasionally have to practice your archery skills. The maze itself is approximately 5 acres.
If you on the other coast, you may be wondering “Where is the Halloween corn maze near me?” Don’t worry because we’ve got a couple of suggestions for those living in California, too!
Big Horse Feed & Mercantile
Address: 33320 Temecula Parkway, Temecula
This corn maze is over 11 acres, so you may want to plan your day accordingly.
Address: 7152 CA-32, Orland (north side of HWY 32 about 10 miles west of Chico, and 4 miles east of Orland)
Country Pumpkins not only has a corn maze during the day for family fun but on certain dates, it becomes a haunted maze at night! If you’re wanting the haunted maze, you may want to check their website to confirm times and dates.
Unfortunately, there are so many corn mazes, we can’t cover every state and city but for the rest of this list, we’ve tried to dig up some of the best corn mazes from around the country. Hopefully, one of these mazes will answer the question “Is there a nighttime corn maze near me too?”
Rutledge Corn Maze
Address: 302 93rd Ave SE, Olympia, Wa
Rutledge Corn Maze came up a number of times in our search for corn mazes and for good reason. Not only does it have a corn maze, it also has a haunted corn maze at night and on the weekends there is something called the “corn cannon.” We can only assume corn being shot out of canons, but who knows!
Richardson Corn Maze
Address: 909 English Prairie Rd, Spring Grove, IL
While not spooky, you’ve got to love hometown pride. Richardson Corn Maze is a huge tribute to the Chicago Cubs. And we mean huge. They also have games to play within the maze, some of which can take up to 2 hours.
McPeek’s Mighty Maze
Address: 24688 County Road 10, Coshocton, OH
Ohio’s best corn maze, it runs during the day and on the weekend, you can go through the maze at night provided you bring your own flashlight.
