Rapper Karim Kharbouch, better known to the world as French Montana, has quite a loaded resume. Since starting his career in 2002, he’s been a musician, videographer, entrepreneur and general socialite (partially thanks to his fling with Khloe Kardashian). And now, he can add one more title to the list: actor! And it’s definitely worth noting, considering the compliment he supposedly received—French Montana apparently thinks he’s got what it takes to become the next Al Pacino!

French Montana posted a picture on Instagram and Twitter of himself and others standing in front of a TV showing the Lions Gate Entertainment (normally just called Lionsgate) logo. But what really matters is what the multi-talented superstar wrote, saying, “Screening for #ThePerfectMatch #march11 they said my acting game like Al Pacino! I’ll let you tell it [sic].” That’s right, French Montana is going to become a movie star, and he must have done an incredible job for such high praise—that or he’s just got a lot of faith in his newfound acting abilities.

The Perfect Match is an upcoming romantic comedy starring Terrence Jenkins and Cassie Ventura, with the legendary Queen Latifah serving as executive producer. The film is about a playboy who no longer believes in relationships, so he accepts a bet from his friends that he won’t be able to spend a month with a single woman without feeling something for her. And when he meets the right woman, he realizes this may be a bet he wants to lose.

In truth, this isn’t French Montana’s first movie appearance, but his second; he’ll be in Respect the Shooter, which is currently in post-production. However, no comment has been made on his performance in that so far. He’s also previously done some TV work, always as himself, on series such as Keeping Up with the Kardashians and two appearances on the sketch comedy show Wild ‘N Out. And, of course, French Montana also has his music career to continue focusing on, with his second studio album, Mac & Cheese: The Album, scheduled to be released sometime this year.

So, while comparing him to a Hollywood legend like Al Pacino might be just a bit of a stretch, some might argue that he’s doing a good job of expanding his skillset—who knows, maybe one day he really will become a movie star!
