Mobile games based on popular franchises are a dime a dozen, but it’s rare that a game gets new content in line with a recent episode or movie. But as the hype for The Walking Dead season 6 episode 9 builds, the mobile game tie-in has released some exciting new season 6 content!
The Walking Dead: No Man’s Land is a free game (with optional micropayments) available for Android and iOS devices based on AMC’s hit show. This action-RPG sees the player control a group of survivors as you try to keep them alive through puzzles and combat against the Walkers (the series’ most common name for zombies).
In preparation for The Walking Dead Season 6, Episode 9, not set to air until February 14 as the show is currently on a mid-season break, the popular game has added a new location: the quarry from earlier in season 6. Appearing in the first episode of the season, the quarry was blocked off to contain all the Walkers that have fallen in. However, one of the trucks used as a barricade was at risk of falling off, forcing Rick Grimes and his group to think of a plan. Of course, for the sake of tension (and to fill an entire episode), the truck falls earlier than expected.

According to the promotional video posted on the show’s official Facebook page, the quarry stage in the mobile game will require players to clear the entire area of the horde. In addition to the stage, the latest update to the game will include the ability to replay previous stages at a harder difficulty and an interesting new game mechanic—walkers that are on fire.
With high user scores on both iTunes and Google Play, No Man’s Land looks to be a good time killer as we wait for new episodes of the show to start in 2016. Just be careful about those in-app payments; you don’t want to be unable to afford your cable bill come February 14 when The Walking Dead season 6 episode 9 airs!
