Billingsley was nominated for a few Young Artist Awards in the early part of his acting career, in 1982, 1983, and 1985, respectively. He won the award for Best Leading Young Actor in a Feature Film for his role as Jack Simmons in the movie The Dirt Bike Kid in 1987.

Not content with just acting in movies Billingsley, became a principal in a production house called Wild West Picture Show Productions.
This production company was founded by one of his best friends, actor Vince Vaughn, and has a first look production deal with Universal Studios.

Billingsley recently paid $3.175 million to purchase a house in Manhattan Beach in New York City. The two-story Mediterranean home was built in 2009 and boasts a high-ceiling front room, six bedrooms, six bathrooms, and an outdoor entertaining area complete with a kitchen, a fireplace, and a covered patio.
It also has a built-in spa surrounded by a lawn, arched double doors at the front of the house, a living room with doors leading to the backyard, and travertine and hardwood floors throughout the first floor.
