It’s no secret that the Academy Award bosses are playing an evil prank on Leonardo DiCaprio, to whom they refuse to give an Oscar. And this topic has become a standing joke even among celebrities! Recently, Patrick Schwarzenegger replied to Rob Lowe’s Tweet about DiCaprio’s upcoming film The Revenant in the most hilarious way ever.

Lowe, 51, tweeted, “Can someone please tell me what a “Revenant” is?” and with the wittiest response possible, Schwarzenegger replied, “It means Oscar in Latin.” Fans of the Terminator’s son wrote, “Ha, that was actually quite clever!” However, this might not have been Schwarzenegger junior’s originality, as someone had already replied to Lowe’s tweet with, “A man hell bent on winning an Oscar.” Another fan gave the actual definition of revenant, which turns out is, “a visible ghost or animated corpse that was believed to return from the grave to terrorize the living [sic].”

DiCaprio has been nominated for an Academy Award four times since his 1994 film, What’s Eating Gilbert Grape. Although he was surprisingly not nominated for one of the biggest films of his career, Titanic, several of his other movies (The Aviator, Blood Diamond and The Wolf of Wall Street) seemed to have made the cut. That being said, he has never actually ever won an Oscar.

However, there are predictions that DiCaprio, 41, may finally receive his first Oscar trophy for The Revenant. The actor went to great lengths to play his role and actually ate raw bison liver. Furthermore, he reportedly slept in real animal carcasses to reprise the role of an explorer, Hugh Glass, who became the unfortunate victim of a bear attack and was left behind by his hunting team. Upon surviving, Glass sets out to avenge his former team members in the dead of winter.

In case you want to check out whether DiCaprio really deserves the Academy Award this time around, you can catch The Revenant when it releases on Christmas day (December 25) this year. However, this will be a limited release, with the nationwide release slated for January 8 next year. Unsurprisingly, DiCaprio has already won a number of Critics Awards for this film. He’s also been nominated for a Golden Globe Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award.
