After reading the list for the Oscar nominees 2018, movie lovers everywhere are ready for Hollywood’s biggest night! This, of course, includes Oscar winner predictions and snubs for this year. Here’s a look at our Oscar predictions 2018.

Academy Awards 2018 Date

The 90th Academy Awards will be held on March 4 and they’re being hosted by none other than Jimmy Kimmel! Based on experience, we have a feeling that Kimmel will be able to successfully execute a comedic yet meaningful monologue, given the recent political climate. The Time’s Up movement will be an obvious theme and the stories of countless victims are rightfully getting harder to ignore. But don’t forget, it’s still an award show and Kimmel knows how to keep the night fun and entertaining!

Oscars 2018: Who Will Win?

There were so many amazing films put out over the past year, it made it hard to choose just one as a clear winner. Everyone enjoys guessing which movie or actor will win but there are times when it’s too close to tell! There were several snubs and several surprises this year, but until the big day, it’s anyone’s guess as to who will come out on top.

The race for the top categories is a close one this year but we’re sure it will leave people speechless. Let’s just hope we don’t have another Warren Beatty/Moonlight situation on our hands again! Too soon?

Best Picture

This is a tough one and likely to make people go back and forth on their first choice. Films like Get Out, Call Me By Your Name, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, and The Shape of Water are the top films that stick out in most people’s minds in this category. If we had to choose, our prediction would be The Shape of Water. It was this year’s dark horse and it already won a Golden Globe. But if we’re wrong, we wouldn’t be surprised if Three Billboards took home the gold, either!

Lead Actor

This category is another tough one but we’ll power through. There were a lot films that gave us a wide range of characters and when it comes to the Best Actor award, our money is on British Get Out star, Daniel Kaluuya. Not only did the film spark a real interest in people, it was his role that stood out—and he deserves all the credit he gets for it!

Lead Actress

There was no shortage of talented women in this top category, which made it that much harder to choose a winner for Best Actress! But, without a doubt, we can look forward to another amazing and entertaining awards speech (walk included) from Three Billboards star, Frances McDormand. She made it clear at the Golden Globes that she and her fellow actresses aren’t in it for the food, and you can expect a bit of politics to be in her acceptance speech.

Supporting Actor

Sam Rockwell. Well, that was easy—and if you watched Three Billboards, then you would know why. Not to mention that he’s already won a Golden Globe for the film and critics seem to love him! We can expect to see his actress girlfriend, Leslie Bibb, by his side, both on and off the red carpet. The pair are a stunner of a couple!

Supporting Actress

It’s a tie between Octavia Spencer, Mary J. Blige and Allison Janney but something tells us that Janney will be walking away with this one for her role in I, Tonya. The film has resurrected interest in the old case and if the reports are true, Janney’s portrayal of LaVona (Tonya Harding’s mother) was spot on!
