Kyrgios was born to a Greek father, Giorgos, a self-employed house painter, and Malaysian mother, Norlaila who is from Gombak, Selangor and works as a computer engineer. Kyrgios’ mom belonged to a royal family in Malaysia, but dropped her title after moving to Australia. Kyrgios has two brothers: Christos, a lawyer, and Nick, is a professional tennis player.

Halimah Kyrgios’ Career
Kyrgios got a scholarship to attend McDonald Performing Arts College in Sydney. Additionally, she received a scholarship to study at Lasalle College of the Arts in Singapore, where she received a B.A. Honors degree in musical theater.
It looks like talent runs in the family! After graduating from university, Kyrgios has worked as a theater dancer. Her passion for dance comes from her mother, who encouraged her to take ballet class at the age of four. When she was five years old, she was a part of the musical Carousel. During an interview, Kyrgios said, “My mother really wanted to do it as a child but she never got a chance, ever since then [her mother] been pretty persistent with it and luckily I loved it too. So it’s been non-stop really.”
After completing her education, she was immediately offered a job. “My ultimate goal would be to be on the West End, I just came back from the UK doing auditions. But I don’t like to leave too many months without accepting a contract. It’s very tough out there but I’m willing to keep my head up and keep things positive and keep working hard,” she said.
