Well, NFL season has officially commenced and here are all the NFL power rankings you need to know! Football fans are eagerly searching the internet for NFL standings and NFL scores after week 1. Don’t go anywhere else, because we’ll give you all the NFL defensive rankings for 2016 that you’re looking for. It definitely seems like football is already back in full force, so here are the week 1 NFL power rankings!

#1 Seattle Seahawks (10-6)

The Seahawks have a preseason ranking of No. 1, after Russell Wilson set new career records in almost every passing category last season. The Thomas Rawls and Christine Michael combination can make a powerful difference.

#2 Pittsburgh Steelers (10-6)

The Steelers have impressed fans with a stellar off-season performance; their offense is definitely a force to be reckoned with. Ben Roethlisberger is poised to become one of, if not the best quarterback currently in the NFL. The Steelers made efforts to upgrade, after signing on Mike Mitchell and trading for Justin Gilbert in the off-season.

#3 New England Patriots (12-4)

All eyes are on Jimmy Garoppolo to see how he performs, as he makes his first career start in Tom Brady’s absence. It definitely looks to be an exciting year for the Patriots, as Garoppolo has faced eight blitzes in his NFL career.

#4 Arizona Cardinals (13-3)

Bruce Arians has proved to be an incredible head coach in the NFL, and with Carson Palmer’s consistent performance last season, it seems like a turnover bug appears to have bitten the 36-year-old. Expectations run high on the Cardinals this season.

#5 Carolina Panthers (15-1)

The defending NFC champs are coming off a 15-season win, and Cam Newton only seems to be getting better. The Panthers’ passing game will be fueled by Kelvin Benjamin and second-year receiver, Devin Funchess. There may be doubts regarding the youth and inexperience of the team, but the team’s veterans promise to put on a good show.

#6 Green Bay Packers (10-6)

According to ESPN’s Football Power Index (FPI), it looks like the Packers are favored to win all their 16 games in this NFL season. Jordy Nelson, Jared Cook, and Eddie Lacy are expected to make up a powerful offense, but fans are waiting to watch Aaron Rodgers in action.

#7 Cincinnati Bengals (12-4)

Despite the loss of Tyler Eifert, Marvin Jones, and Mohamed Sanu, the Bengals have a shot at winning another AFC North title under Marvin Lewis. They failed last year, due to Andy Dalton’s injury, but he has recovered and is ready to go this season. Jeremy Hill and Giovani Bernard have hopes pinned on them, due to the lack of a clear-cut No. 2 wide receiver.

#8 Denver Broncos (12-4)

With Trevor Siemian as the starting quarterback, defending champions Broncos may have a limited offense, although their defense still looks great. The Super Bowl 50 champions will rely on their defense, after losing starters like Malik Jason and Danny Trevathan. With Peyton Manning adjusting to retired life, a lot of questions are left as to the fate of the team!

#9 Kansas City Chiefs (11-9)

The Chiefs hope for a better start to this season as opposed to their last, while they wait for Jamaal Charles to regain his health. With Justin Houston gone for six weeks, the team could be off to a slow start. They were one of the best teams last year, and could still win against the Denver Broncos in the AFC West.

#10 Minnesota Vikings (11-5)

Teamed up with coordinator Norv Turner and quarterbacks coach Scott Turner, Sam Bradford’s offense is likely to perform well. He replaced quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, who is out for the year nursing a knee injury. The window for the older players like Adrian Peterson (31), Terence Newman (38) and Chad Greenway (33) is closing, and all eyes are on the defense to carry the team to victory.
The New York Jets (10-6) come in at No. 11, followed by the Oakland Raiders (7-9), Houston Texans (9-7), Washington Redskins (9-7) and Baltimore Ravens (5-11). Keep watching this space for more NFL power ranking updates!
