Crowns Galore!

Alcântara was passionate about everything beauty since she was little, and dreamed of becoming a beacon of strength for women across her country.

By wanting to making it big, Alcântara began participating in pageants. Her first was a Miss Teen Piaui, which she won by showing grace, poise, and strength.

Alcântara was crowned Miss Piaui in 2017, and the special event was made even more glorious by crafting a crown with ancestral symbols and meanings. The silver crown presented to Alcântara was a reminder of her history and representation of the state and country.

“How can I not be proud of a crown that bears the history of my state and humanity merged in silver, as our ancestors did thousands of years ago in the stones of Serra da Capivara.” Alcântara wrote in a social media post.

She added, “I say to you, it is impossible not to recognize me in this crown that carries the riches and glories of humanity and the Brazilian people, I am proud of the history of Piauí and I love my crown, which is extremely original.”

Alcântara then went on to win Miss Brazil 2017, and became the first woman from the state of Piaui to represent Brazil on such a big platform. The humbled woman thanked her country and people for believing in her, and wants to give back to society as much as she can.
