The Brigham Young University senior is majoring in violin performance. Besides winning Miss America 2018, Riley dreams of becoming a studio recording artist. She also wants to get her Bachelor of Fine Arts and Communications degree in violin performance.

Her Accomplishments So Far
One thing Riley is most proud of happened while she was in high school. “After my junior year in high school, I was offered a spot in Brigham Young University’s School of Music. I had worked so hard and built the right relationships that allowed me to complete my senior year of high school while at BYU as a freshman,” she explained. The one thing she cannot imagine living without is her best friend, Sam, her violin from Austria that is 115 years old.

According to JessiKate Riley’s Instagram, she believes in honesty, loyalty, work, integrity, persistence, determination, success, practice, and depth. JessiKate Riley’s family is extremely close to her and are proud of her achievements. She constantly posts pictures of her family and friends on her Instagram account. At the age of 13, she was diagnosed with Trichotillomania, an anxiety disorder. With the help of her family and friends, Riley did not let it overcome her and she discovered her true potential. She is helping others find their inner value with the help of her platform, “Find ValYOU Within.”

Riley started playing the violin at the age of three, something her family has always supported. When she was nine, she was accepted to perform as a children’s concert soloist at the International Suzuki Conference in Turin, Italy.
Her parents, Amanda and Douglas Riley, could not be more proud of their 20-year-old daughter. In June 2017, she was crowned Miss Utah 2017 at Capitol Theatre in Salt Lake City, giving her a $10,000 scholarship. Now, Riley is preparing for the Miss America 2018 pageant.
