It’s difficult to remember a time when Miley Cyrus was not in the news. First for her show and music as alter-ego Hannah Montana, and recently for her non-stop controversial actions. However, the recently turned 23-year-old shared a photo to Facebook, revealing a much softer side.

She posted a relatively simple (although she did have pink and blue flowers in her hair) picture of herself with two of her dogs, Milky and Mary Jane, to Facebook and wrote in the caption, “Catch Milky, Mary Jane, and me in some puppy jammies tonight on The All-Star Dog Rescue Celebration!!!! Let’s save some pupppppps and doggies of allll ages. Give them a forever home to be thankful for! Peace for Pits! [sic]”

With well over 30,000 likes, it’s safe to say that Cyrus got the attention of quite a few people. Her fans also left several comments commending her for the work she is doing for animals. They wrote, “Thank you for helping spread the love for pits and all rescue dogs,” and one account created especially for a cat, called “Geronimo Cat,” said, “I’m not a big dog cat, but I guess we’re all animals, right? If I met those dogs on the street, we might just throw down, but everyone deserves a forever home.. Even canines [sic].” Talk about hilarious!

The All-Star Dog Rescue Celebration is a show aired on Fox, and the Thanksgiving special that was previewed last night was hosted by Kaley Cuoco. Besides Cyrus, other celebrities who lent their names for the good cause included Paula Abdul, Scarlett Johansson, Cesar Milan, and country band Florida Georgia Line.

And apart from this show, Cyrus has shown her love for animals often. The “Wrecking Ball” hitmaker has had a total of 14 pets—nine dogs, one pig, a blowfish, and three cats. Out of these, three unfortunately passed away and one was given to her ex, Liam Hemsworth, a couple of years ago. While Cyrus’ new album title Miley Cyrus and Her Dead Petz is quite self-explanatory, it should be mentioned that she put it up for free online streaming.
