They Met Through a Dating App
Miles Skinner, reportedly born on November 16, 1982, proposed to Whitney Cummings on September 4, her birthday. The venue he chose to get down on one knee at was at a horse ranch with an audience of Cummings’ beloved rescue-horse, King.
Cummings was visibly in disbelief but her humor was intact in the video she shared on Instagram. She’s heard saying she would have gotten a manicure had she known she was about to get an engagement ring!
She captioned the video saying, “you too can find love on a dating app.” That’s right! The comedienne met her husband-to-be on the Internet!
Cummings proclaimed she prefers to keep her personal life private. But she did gush about her dating experiences and her newest relationship to Conan O’Brien when she appeared on Conan in November 2017.

She revealed to O’Brien that she had been in a relationship for 10 months at that point and she actually met the guy on the Internet.
She shared more pictures of the proposal, including the exact moment he bent the knee and quipped her horse was after the “carats” (carrots, get it?).

He Works in Branding and Advertising
New York native, Miles Skinner may not have the comedy chops like his wife-to-be, but he does match her in creativity. Skinner is actually pretty huge in the brand industry.
He is the group creative director of VICE Media in New York City. But he currently resides in California and also serves as the creative director of VICE’s creative services subsidiary, VIRTUE Worldwide.
A graduate of Parsons School of Design, he freelanced as a brand strategist for some big names Staple Design, Nike, Master & Dynamic, Ralph Lauren, New York Rangers, and the New York Knicks. You can see some of his works on his website.

Cummings is intent on keeping her personal and professional lives separate, to the point she has prevented Skinner from seeing any of her stand-up routines!
Well, not that they were trying very hard to keep their relationship a secret. Skinner was never featured on Cummings’ Instagram, but they have been subtly leaving breadcrumbs about their relationship.
Skinner tagged her in his Instagram posts for months and even shared a Valentine’s post with her. She commented on his posts often, too. But his small following (compared to Cummings’ 538k followers) didn’t pick up the hints.

They Are Passionate about the Same Things
From raising a rescue-horse to helping animals in pet shelters, Cummings is well known for animal activism. Animal welfare is also a cause close to Skinner’s heart.
The brand strategist has at least one dog who stars in some cute posts on Instagram. He often shares photographs with other dogs, too. And just before proposing to Cummings, he became buddies with a donkey. Obviously, he loves animals!
Other causes he supports include human rights, civil rights, social action, and economic empowerment.
