Earlier this week, we shared what the morning means to TV personality Giuliana Rancic. Today, social media was blessed with a more inspirational morning regimen, courtesy of retired NFL star Michael Strahan.
The Good Morning America contributor recently released a new book, Wake Up Happy: The Dream Big, Win Big Guide to Transforming Your Life. According to the book’s Amazon page, the book features Strahan’s “personal stories about how he gets and stays motivated and how readers can do the same in their quest to attain their life goals.” As part of promotion for the book, Strahan vowed on Facebook to share one rule a week from his new book, encouraging fans to use the hashtag “WakeUpHappy” to share how following those rules has worked out for them.
And on January 7, Michael Strahan shared the very first rule of 2016; it’s actually the seventh from the book, though. He wrote “#WakeUpHappy Rule #7 – Ask yourself, ‘Am I the man or the woman that I hoped to be?’ If you want to be more, you’ve got to do more. My hope is that they pursue their passions and live a life that makes them #WakeUpHappy every day!” The special advice was accompanied by a photo of his children at home, smiling and clearly motivated.
The post was liked by over 6,200 fans, and there’s a good chance that more than a few of them tried to follow the athlete’s wise words. The comments certainly seemed to reflect that, at least. One fan wrote, “You are a great dad and role model for your kids as well as others. Your attitude toward life is a great inspiration to the generation today. I truly admire that,” while another added, “You are setting a wonderful example for your family as well as a true inspiration to many.” We look forward to seeing the next of Michael Strahan’s rules to help everyone wake up happy!
