At the age of 50, Michael Jordan is officially a father for the fourth (and technically the fifth) time. His younger wife, 35-year-old Yvette Prieto, gave birth to twins on February 9. The celebrity couple welcomed identical daughters named Victoria and Ysabel. “Yvette Jordan and the babies are doing well and the family is overjoyed at their arrival,” said Jordan’s rep.
The celebrity couple first started dating back in 2008 and celebrated their marriage five years later with a $10 million wedding reception. Yvette Prieto, a former model, is entering motherhood for the first time, but Michael Jordan already has three kids from his previous marriage to Juanita Vanoy. The oldest of his three kids is only 10 years younger than his wife.
Here’s another tidbit to help put their age difference in perspective: Yvette Prieto was only ten years old when her famous husband helped the U.S. men’s basketball team with the gold medal at the 1984 Summer Olympics.
What do you think: Is 50 too old to still be having kids?
