Mary-Kate Olsen, 27, is officially engaged to her much older man, 44-year-old French banker Olivier Sarkozy. The celebrity couple has been dating for almost two years now and although their 17-year age difference raised some eyebrows at first, their relationship seems to have only gotten stronger. They already share a $6.25 million home in New York City, so marriage was bound to come next. In fact, three months ago the celebrity couple was spotted looking at ring designs by famed celebrity jewelry designer Neil Lane. Olsen was said to have her eye on a rock that was “over five carats” and estimated to be worth over $100,000.
There’s no word yet on when Olsen and Sarkozy will walk down the aisle, but according to sources, her family couldn’t be happier that the celebrity couple is finally planning to make it official, even with their big age difference. “Mary-Kate’s family thinks Olivier is the best thing to happen to her,” revealed one insider. “They love him.”
While this will be Olsen’s first marriage, Olivier Sarkozy has been married once before. He ended his marriage to his first wife, Charlotte Bernard, in 2011. He also has two kids, aged 10 and 12, from that first marriage, which means that Olsen will become a stepmother of two before she hits 30. Then again, that’s just part of the deal when you’re dating a much older man.
What do you think: Will this celebrity couple’s marriage last?
