In a horrific case unlike any other, a clown carrying a bouquet of flowers and balloons walked up to Marlene Warren’s front door, and shot her. Now, 27 years later, the clown has been identified as Shiela Keen Warren. She was having an affair with Marlene Warren’s husband, and was arrested on September 26.

It was 27 years ago when newspapers were speculating about the murder of Marlene Warren. Someone dressed in a full clown costume reportedly went to Warren’s home holding flowers and balloons, and shot her in the face. Justice has finally been served as the clown killer was caught and arrested earlier this week. Read on to everything about Sheila Keen Warren’s arrest in the killer clown case in Marlene Warren’s wiki.

Marlene Warren’s Murder Case

Marlene Warren married Michael Warren in 1972, and lived with him and her 21-year-old son, Joseph Ahrens from a previous marriage in Florida. According to reports, Ahrens heard the doorbell ring from the living room. His mother answered the door, and he saw a person dressed as a clown —with a red nose, orange wig, and a painted smile holding a floral arrangement and two balloons.

One of the balloons read “You’re the Greatest” and Marlene said “How nice,” before she was shot. Ahrens came running to find his mother bleeding profusely on the floor, and a clown “calmly” walk back to the parked white Chrysler LeBaron, with no license plate, in their driveway before driving off.

Marlene Warren was rushed to a hospital, where she died two days later from injuries in her head and neck. The investigating officers were baffled with how little evidence they had to go on with the case, but continued to work hard with what they had.

The search for Marlene’s killer led officials to uncover a secret affair between Marlene’s husband and  Sheila Keen, who worked at his used car lot. Detective Louis Sessa had suspected Keen, but at the time did not have enough evidence to prove his theory.

Justice Delayed, but Not Denied

It was also discovered that Sheila Keen married Michael Warren in 2002, and the couple ran a restaurant, Purple Cow, in Tennessee. She was arrested near her home in Virginia on September 26, 2017, and will be transferred to Florida where she will face first-degree murder charges.

Investigators believe that Michael Warren was having an affair with Sheila Keen. At the time, Marlene became aware of her husband’s infidelity, and planned on leaving him. Some family members disclosed to police that Marlene intended to leave her husband, but feared the consequences as his car lot and other properties were in her name, reportedly telling her mother, “If anything happens to me, Mike done it.”

It was revealed shortly after Marlene Warren’s murder that a costume shop owner told police that someone purchased a clown costume two days earlier, and pointed Keen out in a photo lineup. The white Chrysler that the clown fled in was reported stolen from Michael Warren’s lot a month before the shooting. It was later found abandoned with orange hair-like fibers inside.

With advanced DNA identification methods, Sheila Keen Warren, 54, was arrested. Michael Warren was with her at the time. She was charged with first-degree murder, and officials said that she was very “nonchalant” after the arrest was made, and smiled for her mugshot. Her attorney Wayne Austin says that she “looks forward to having her day in court.”

Her neighbor, Rocky Blevins said that she “is a great person,” with his wife adding, “It has to be a mistake.”

Mistake or not, officials believe they finally put an end to the disturbing case, and are looking forward to seeing Sheila Keen Warren put to justice .David Aronberg, Palm Beach State attorney, said “The potential penalty in this case is life in prison, and potentially the death penalty.”

Marlene Warren’s parents are glad that their daughter’s killer was caught. But at the same time, her mother added “it’s taking me back to the memory of it and it’s kind of hard, I feel like crying now, but I’m glad it’s over.”
