Marc Anthony enjoyed a slow but successful rise to fame as a singer and songwriter in the English music scene. He’s won two Grammys, among several other notable awards, and even landed a few film roles across big stars like Denzel Washington, Al Pacino, and Sean Penn.
Despite his own achievements, Anthony’s fame really hit the roof in 2004 when he married his third wife, international superstar Jennifer Lopez. Having already fathered three kids from his first two marriages, Anthony became a dad once again when Lopez gave birth to their twins—Maximilian and Emme—in February 2008. Three years later, they announced that their marriage was over. Their joint statement described the split as amicable, but Anthony still wasn’t too impressed when Lopez started dating her much younger back-up dancer, Casper Smart.
So, Anthony did what a lot of other men would probably do—found a younger woman. In January 2012, he started dating then 24-year-old model Shannon de Lima. At 24, she was almost 20 years younger than him. But that didn’t stop him from professing his love for her over Facebook and Twitter. They even posed for a “family picture” with Lopez and Smart at Anthony’s son’s birthday party. About a year later, Anthony and de Lima called it quits. They didn’t really spill too much on what went wrong, but the announcement came only two days after reports surfaced about Anthony leaving a hotel minutes before Lopez walked out.
Anthony didn’t waste any time moving on, this time with someone even younger, 21-year-old Chloe Green. It’s pretty certain that Green wasn’t drawn to Anthony’s money—she’s the heiress to the high-end retailer Topshop. They first went public with their relationship in February 2013, and Green was even spotted spending quality time with his twins.
One problem young women often have with dating older men is having to deal with their baggage from a past life. For Green, it was too much to handle. She reportedly felt like Anthony was still in love with Lopez, and it caused too much tension in their relationship. Although he was the one to end it, insiders said Greene was relieved because she felt like being a stepmother at 22 was too much to handle—after all, she was only a couple years older than Anthony’s eldest daughter.
