Lindsay Lohan, a rather controversial starlet, criticized Vanity Fair for pointing out her innocent Instagram mistake—she tagged Cabo San Lucas, Mexico as her location while she was actually holidaying in the Gold Coast of Guanacaste, Costa Rica—in one of their recent articles. The magazine made fun of the troubled diva for mislabeling her holiday destination in her Instagram post on December 31, 2015, while also poking fun at a few more of her recent Instagram posts.
Admitting the slip-up, Lohan posted another picture earlier today, a selfie of her glaring into the camera on a bright sunny day, but in the caption, she called out the magazine for overplaying her innocent mistake. “I don’t confuse Costa Rica and Mexico @vanityfair – I just wanted to start the year with peace and love [sic],” wrote Lohan, along with the hashtags, “2016” and “AnyOfUs.”
To be fair, the actress has been under scrutiny for most of her life, and as the New Year was ushered in, she was probably hoping it would be with much less of a frenzy. Unfortunately, the Vanity Fair article still seemed to paint her in a negative light, so you can’t blame her for taking offense to it. After all, who would want to start the year off with a controversy?
Despite the slight run-in with Vanity Fair, Lindsay Lohan’s year seems to be off to a pretty good start. In addition to a beautiful vacation in Costa Rica, the actress may also have a new man in her life, judging by a recent Instagram picture showing a guy kissing her bare back (or at least that’s what it looks like.) Lohan’s career may also be on the mend—she’s currently working on a new movie called The Shadow Within, which is expected to release sometime in 2016.
